BHMS Lucerne MBA: 7 Specialisations for a Global Career Direction

If you are considering business study in Switzerland but do not want a broadly general MBA, a specialisation can make your study goal more focused. BHMS offers a one-year Master of Business Administration in Lucerne with seven specialisation options.[1]

The programme combines business fundamentals, leadership development, and an independent research project. Before choosing it, the key question is not only “Do I want an MBA?” but also “Which area do I want to deepen for my next career step?”

Seven specialisation options

BHMS lists seven pathways: Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Innovation, Innovative Start-Up Business Strategies, Luxury Brand Management, Cybersecurity and Big Data Management, Global Marketing and Sales, International Hospitality Management, and Banking and Finance.[1]

For Indonesian applicants, this list can be a practical starting point for matching your experience, interests, and career direction. AI and Digital Innovation may suit professionals seeking a stronger understanding of technology-led business transformation. Global Marketing and Sales may appeal to those drawn to cross-border markets, while International Hospitality Management is more aligned with building management expertise in hospitality.

A specialisation does not guarantee a particular job or role. Its value is stronger when you choose it around the experience you want to build, the organisations you hope to work with, and the skills you genuinely need to develop.

Study structure and practical experience

BHMS states that the first six months are an intensive study block covering business principles and leadership, followed by an independent research project that can be aligned with a student’s future aspirations.[1]

Students can then return to full-time work or choose a six-month internship in Switzerland or worldwide to build skills and expand their professional network.[1] Internship availability, placement, and related conditions should be confirmed directly with BHMS for your intended intake.

Listed core modules include sustainable business models, innovation, business development, strategic global business management, finance and accounting, marketing and data analytics, transformational leadership, and MBA research methods.[1]

Admissions and fees: check your intake

The programme page says the MBA is open to applicants with an undergraduate degree in any discipline and requires IELTS 6.0 or an equivalent qualification.[1] At the time the page was checked, BHMS listed September 2026 as the next intake and April 2027 as an upcoming intake.[1]

For Year 1, the page lists a CHF43,600 total: CHF34,100 tuition, CHF2,600 operating costs, CHF5,900 living expenses for 24 weeks in a shared standard room with meals, and a CHF1,000 application fee.[1] Fee structures, living-expense inclusions, exchange rates, visa requirements, and admission criteria can change, so request the current official schedule before deciding.
