UTS Sydney Scholarships for International Students: 30% Tuition-Fee Support and Full Tuition Opportunities

For students planning undergraduate or postgraduate coursework study in Sydney, a scholarship can change how they build a budget and set their application goals. The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) lists funding opportunities for international undergraduate, postgraduate coursework, research, and exchange students.[1]

Two opportunities worth understanding early are the UTS Academic Excellence International Scholarship and the UTS Vice-Chancellor’s International Undergraduate Scholarship. Neither is an automatic entitlement for every applicant; eligibility and selection remain subject to each award’s official criteria.[2][3]

UTS Academic Excellence International Scholarship: 30% of tuition fees

UTS lists the UTS Academic Excellence International Scholarship at 30% of UTS tuition fees for the standard credit-point duration of the course. It is intended for high-performing international students commencing undergraduate or postgraduate coursework at UTS Sydney.[2]

To be considered, students need to meet the admission requirements of their selected programme and begin full-time, on-campus study in Sydney. UTS says eligible students are automatically considered through their course application, with no separate scholarship form or documentation beyond the course application requirements.[2]

The scholarship also has exclusions, including online/distance students and certain other funding recipients. Do not assume the 30% value applies to every programme or applicant.[2]

Vice-Chancellor’s International Undergraduate Scholarship: full tuition

For prospective undergraduate students with very strong academic results, UTS lists the Vice-Chancellor’s International Undergraduate Scholarship with a value of UTS Tuition Fees for the standard duration of the course.[3]

Under the currently listed information, applicants must meet admission criteria, commence full-time and on campus in Sydney, and have an overall average of at least 85% where the pass mark is 50%, or its equivalent, in a UTS-recognised high-school qualification.[3]

Unlike the Academic Excellence award, the Vice-Chancellor’s scholarship requires an application through the UTS online Scholarships Application form. For the Autumn 2027 session, UTS lists an application period from 1 October to 2 November 2026, closing at 11.55pm AEST.[3]

A checklist before you apply

1. Choose a UTS programme that genuinely matches your study and career direction.

2. Confirm that your academic record meets the relevant admission and scholarship criteria.

3. Check whether a separate scholarship application is required or whether you will be considered automatically.

4. Compare tuition after a scholarship with living costs, OSHC, visa costs, and other expenses that remain your responsibility.

5. Reconfirm dates, eligibility, and English-language requirements on UTS’s current pages.[1][2][3]
